Another one of her classics is the film adaptation of the Lerner and Loewe’s musical, My Fair Lady.

The remake was announced back in 2008 with Kiera Knightley attached along with her Love Actually producer Duncan Kenworthy. Now Knightley’s Pride and Prejudice director Joe Wright is attached and she is back attached to the project once having her name removed for Scarlett Johanson.

Daily Telegraph reports Knightley will star in the remake in which Johansson was up for the lead role the site reported that Wright has come on to direct and it seems that Wright has gone with Knightley, who he directed in Pride & Prejudice, to star.

While it’s being called a remake, the film will use the tuner’s score and retain its 1912 setting. Where possible, young actress Kenworthy and Mackintosh intend to shoot the film on location in the original London settings of Covent Garden, Drury Lane, Tottenham Court Road, Wimpole Street and the Ascot racecourse. (The 1964 Warner Bros. film was lensed entirely on Hollywood soundstages.)

The filmmakers plan to adapt Alan Jay Lerner’s book more fully for the screen by drawing additional material from skin care George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion,” which served as the source material for the musical. The goal is to dramatize the emotional highs and lows of Doolittle as she undergoes the ultimate metamorphosis under the tutelage of Professor Henry Higgins.

Coddington seems to pump passion and artistic integrity into the pages while not being swept up in the plus size fashions celebrity frenzy that seems synonymous with fashion these days. She's not quite the picture of glamor, either, with her wiry red hair, an almost entirely black wardrobe and a series of hippie-ish shoes that look more Birkenstock than Manolo Blahnik.

And yet when the Vogue staff fitness model wrapped up the September issue of 2007, the biggest in the title's 117-year history, Coddington could say that she drove all but one of the main
fashion features - a semi-disastrous cover shoot with Sienna Miller.

In fact, she does say it, and uses a tone that seems smug and is a bit of a dig at Wintour, who had doubted some of Coddington's plans. "I meant it tongue-in-cheek, but I do make those mature women remarks. Unfortunately not everyone sees it the same way I do," she says.

That was always fine - at least until the film, which chronicles the back and forth between the two bollywood actress women and opened in New York last Friday. "It was a complete surprise to me that, in the movie, I'm in it quite a lot. "They filmed for months before they turned the cameras on me at all. Anna had given them complete access so they were a bit annoyed when I kept slamming the door in their plus size fashions faces. And when it came to the shoots for that issue, she basically said: 'They are coming along and it's not an option.' But once they started coming on all the shoots, there was no point in being grumpy about it."

The relationship between mature women Coddington, camera and crew evolved into a warm one, and Coddington, 68, comes off as the unsung heroine. "If you can't beat them, join them - and I liked them," she says of the movie people.

Film maker RJ Cutler went into Vogue unsure of the story he wanted to tell, other than to offer a more intimate glimpse of Wintour, who wields power like few others in both fitness model fashion and publishing. He spent more than eight months inside Vogue's hallowed halls at Conde Nast headquarters.

Silk and organza in pastel colours were draped to form structured short skirts and fitness model dresses, a lemon version of which was worn to the event by "Slumdog Millionaire" star Freida Pinto. "I loved the show, it was brilliant. I think it was different, it was classy and not too fussy," the Indian actress told AFP after the show, which she attended with her co-star Dev Patel.

Ever wonder what the inner circle of high start modeling fashion modeling is like? "The Beautiful Life:TBL" is trying to give you a glimpse.

Was it successful? Well that's hard to say. What is certain is that I am not sure how well it worked as a start modeling pilot. The jerky camera movements, flashing lights, loud music and shouting actors was supposed to create the ambiance of backstage at a fashion show. But with stilted dialog and obvious set ups, it seemed like a wasted effort.

We meet Marissa, an over confident model out for herself, Raina (Sara Paxton), the new fitness model girl, and Sonja (Mischa Barton), the supermodel who went AWOL for unknown reasons 6 months ago and is looking for a comeback. When the show stopping final dress of the runway doesn't fit her and can't be let out, Marissa volunteers to take the spot. But it's given to Raina.

And a show stopper it is, rocketing Raina to instant fame and the immediate enemy of all other models in fitness model New York. At least, that's how Marissa explains it to poor naive Raina while at the agency of Claudia Foster (Elle Macpherson). Which is where another naive newbie bumps into her.

Chris Andrews is a farm hand working for his dad most days, but he happens to be on a family vacation at a 4 star restaurant in bollywood actress Manhattan just in time to bump into Simon - one of Claudia's agents. She has him strip in the lobby and seems unimpressed, but Simon passes him off to a photographer anyway.

Helpful Raina goes with him and is there with the perfect words to help him relax in front of the camera. Despite his bollywood actress father's objections, he decides to stay in New York an extra few days and see what comes of it all.

But it seems there's no room for him at the model house. Which makes little sense, since Isaac is a child model Iselin Steiro who hasn't been able to book a job in years - so why is he there? Anyway, while the other male models smirk, he heads to Simon's house to change for a big party that night.

At the party, Claudia takes fruity cocktails from the Iselin Steiro female models, telling them there will be no drinking at one of her parties. Yet, nothing is done about the male model who is selling cocaine to just about everyone's knowledge. Everyone also seems to know that Chris is Simon's "date", though Chris doesn't clue in until Simon calls him "baby". Chris ends up punching him in the face (does homophobia have any place in the modeling world?) which catches the eye of fancy pantsed agent who immediately wants to hire him. Too bad he's already stormed out.

Emanuela De Paula with Male Model Talent Agency

If "The Beautiful Life" were the first TV show to fill the screen with great-looking Emanuela de Paula fashion models and then suggest there is a tawdry underside of the seemingly glamorous modeling biz, it might feel more interesting. But after what feels like dozens of other scripted and unscripted shows that have made the same point, it seems more like, "Take a number, pal."

Even the well-chronicled off-screen misadventures of star male model don't make "TBL" any more interesting - if only because Barton has a fairly unremarkable role in Wednesday night's premiere. Anyone who has ever channel-surfed onto "Project Runway" knows that the fashion game, which includes modeling, can be a hornet's nest of nasty drama that requires thick skin and world-class self-preservation instincts.

"The Beautiful Life" reinforces this notion by creating a high-tension talent agency soap opera that on opening night, at least, doesn't give its beauties any real sense of depth. The leads include Ben Hollingsworth as Chris Andrews, an Iowa farm boy who's "discovered" on a family trip to New York and has his world suddenly turned upside down. Not entirely by coincidence, the show's creator, Ashton Kutcher, was an Iowa boy who was discovered as a model when he came to the big city.

Sara Paxton plays Raina Marinelli, who is also relatively party fresh meat, though a little wiser than Chris. She helps him, they bond. Gee, where could this go? Barton plays Sonja Stone, reigning supermodel of the fashion world. At the time when most people are just starting careers, she's aging out of hers.

That makes Sonja even more of a wild card than a spoiled superstar ordinarily would be, and sets up comments like, "Don't you dare feel Emanuela de Paula sorry for me. This will be you in a few years." Elle Macpherson plays Claudia Foster, owner of the agency that employs most of these beautiful folks. But much of the opening episode centers on Chris, and it's mildly amusing to guess whether Kutcher actually did some of these things in his modeling days or just wishes he'd done them.

One thing seems clear: The adults Chris meets in the fashion world male model are a scurvy lot. One oily character asks a 16-year-old how much she wants this job. She says she's going to tell her father. He asks who her father is. "You'd better pray you never find out," she replies.

As this suggests, "The Beautiful Life" is talent agency designed to fit alongside CW anchors like "90210," except that even by those standards, it's pretty predictable and stilted. It makes modeling feel like sausage: After a while, you stop being interested in what goes into it.

Sullen, vacant, and with enough attitude to fill an episode of The Tyra Banks Show, some applicants for the 2009 Fashion Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search had done their homework before the casting event at the mall's north court.

Joy Vaillancourt took her turn on the models agency catwalk during the Fashion Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search at NorthPark Center on Saturday.

"Modeling is definitely more present in everyday culture thanks to America's Next Top Model," said Ali Michael, a top fitness modeling herself, explaining the swagger the 14- to 22-year-olds brought. The Search's 2005 winner and Teen Vogue cover girl served as runway judge for the day. Her blue eyes focused on a lithe raven-haired teenager. "I like her," Michael said under her breath, barely audible over Lady Gaga, adding the lucky girl's number to her very short list of favorites.

One by one, more than 600 potential posers made their way down the white-washed mature modeling catwalk, the third part of a four-step process to enter the search. After dropping off their applications, hopefuls were photographed by fashion photographer Larry Travis. Heading down the escalator, the entrants were briefly schooled in runway rigor by former model and current fashion show producer Jan Strimple.

Hitting the end of the runway and staring into the photo gallery Web cam set up by CW 33, which streamed live on the TV station's site, each entrant took one last photo on the adjacent red carpet. These shots are now posted at CW33.com, where viewers can push one applicant through to the semifinals.

Dallas native Lauren Moody, the first fitness modeling photo gallery person in line Saturday morning, was into networking, not catwalking. "I think you need to know the right people to make it in modeling," the blond 19-year-old said with assurance, looking back at the long line. "This is all so intimidating. But not as much as doing the catwalk."

When Crystal Renn was anorexic, her career as a model flourished. She had had heart palpitations. She was so weak that she fainted if she walked too far, and her bones had poked out sharply from under her paper-thin, taut, grey skin. But she was a US bollywood actress size zero – a UK size two – and the work rolled in.

But it was when Renn started eating and expanded to a UK plus size fashions that her career really took off. In Hungry, her autobiography, described by Nigella Lawson as "a riveting read" and launched on Tuesday at a glittering Manhattan party, the highest-paid plus-size model in America talks of the delicate new dawning of a vogue for women who are "lush and sparkly, with nary a jutting collarbone in sight".

Renn says that while "crazy town still mature women loves to gawp at the ultra-slim" there is a growing appetite in the fashion world for "the natural shapes a woman's body takes when it's not being deprived of food".

She should know. When she was spotted by a modelling agent at the fitness models age of 13 she was told to lose five stone: more than 42% of her then body weight. At 14, Renn was smaller than a US size zero and secured a three-year, $250,000 contract and moved to New York.

"When I started bollywood actress modelling in 2002 – and to a slightly lesser degree, today – the look of the moment was nearly skeletal," said Renn. "Starting in the early 1990s with the rise of Kate Moss and of heroin chic, the fashion industry fell in love with depressed-looking, emaciated girls."

The real public relations crisis hit in 2006. In a matter of months plus size fashions models Luisel Ramos and her sister, Eliana, and Ana Carolina Reston and Hila Elmalich died after starving themselves to death in their attempt to be thin.

There was an outcry. The Council of Fashion Designers of America recommended that runway models be aged over 16. Spain banned fitness models weighing less than 8st 11lb from Madrid's Fashion Week. But, said Renn, the immediate change was "nil". "High-fashion models remained as thin as ever," she said.

But now, Renn says, fashion has finally begun – slowly and grudgingly – to change. Inga Eiriksdottir agrees with Renn. She was spotted by the Women Agency in New York when she was 15 and a natural UK size eight. "When I reached 18, I was 5ft 11in and still a size eight, but they wanted a US size 0. It was awful. They pressured me and told me I was fat. I was obsessed with losing weight, but my body just wouldn't do it," she said.

"I did everything: I didn't eat, I exercised, but I couldn't make myself the shape they insisted on. Eventually someone suggested I become a plus-size model.

Filmed as a backstage companion to “Project Runway,” “Models of the Runway” focuses on the symbiosis between talent agency designer and model. Producers say that it also addresses a curiosity about the models that “Project Runway” viewers had expressed through e-mail messages and chat rooms.

“Heidi says in ‘Project Runway’ that a teen model can make or break a look,” Ms. Rea said. “You might see a design that’s not so good but is saved on the runway, or one that is good but is taken down by the model who’s wearing it.”

Tanisha Harper, a talent agency model who has worked for the photographer Patrick Demarchelier and the designers Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, saw her role, both on the show and in real life, as a kind of muse. “You give them that inspiration — the ‘that’s my girl’ thing that can mold their collection for the next season, or that may change their perspective of how they design that dress,” she said. “We give them their extra little oomph.”

Christopher Straub, a current contestant on “Project Runway,” said that he doesn’t rely on his fitness model for inspiration — he already has his own muse in Victoria Beckham — but did admit that the model can be the final element in the designer’s success.

“For me it’s a very important relationship because you can make the prettiest design or the ugliest fashion trends design, but it all comes down to how it’s presented,” he said. “That model has to be your best friend because she’s going to be the one who’s selling it.”

Over time, he said, some were fashion trends christened “death models” by the contestants. “The word was, ‘Don’t go with her,’ “ Mr. Straub said of one.

And has the emphasis on hearing more from the models been helpful? “For the first time they were sharing the spotlight, and I think they felt they had the ability to control the teen model designs a little bit more than in the past,” Mr. Straub said. “There were definitely times when the designers would get frustrated with the feedback.”

Mr. Straub might consider himself lucky. This season he is paired at least twice with Katie Sticksel, a model who insisted it wasn’t her place to influence anyone.

“I know what looks good on my body, so I would maybe give tips,” said Ms. Sticksel, who has worked for the designers Roberto Cavalli and Peter Som. “But as far as telling them what to do, I can barely zip a zipper correctly.”

No doubt about it, Anna Wintour is the brains behind Vogue. Nothing brings that into clearer focus than the new Fitness Model documentary "The September Issue." But the film exposes someone else at the magazine's heart: Creative Director Grace Coddington.

Coddington seems to pump passion and artistic integrity into the pages while not being swept up in the plus size fashions celebrity frenzy that seems synonymous with fashion these days. She's not quite the picture of glamor, either, with her wiry red hair, an almost entirely black wardrobe and a series of hippie-ish shoes that look more Birkenstock than Manolo Blahnik.

And yet when the Vogue staff fitness model wrapped up the September issue of 2007, the biggest in the title's 117-year history, Coddington could say that she drove all but one of the main
fashion features - a semi-disastrous cover shoot with Sienna Miller.

In fact, she does say it, and uses a tone that seems smug and is a bit of a dig at Wintour, who had doubted some of Coddington's plans. "I meant it tongue-in-cheek, but I do make those mature women remarks. Unfortunately not everyone sees it the same way I do," she says.

That was always fine - at least until the film, which chronicles the back and forth between the two bollywood actress women and opened in New York last Friday. "It was a complete surprise to me that, in the movie, I'm in it quite a lot. There are cameras around Vogue a lot - there are cameras around Anna a lot, but I usually end up on the cutting-room floor," Coddington says.

"They filmed for months before they turned the cameras on me at all. Anna had given them complete access so they were a bit annoyed when I kept slamming the door in their plus size fashions faces. And when it came to the shoots for that issue, she basically said: 'They are coming along and it's not an option.' But once they started coming on all the shoots, there was no point in being grumpy about it."

The relationship between mature women Coddington, camera and crew evolved into a warm one, and Coddington, 68, comes off as the unsung heroine. "If you can't beat them, join them - and I liked them," she says of the movie people.

Film maker RJ Cutler went into Vogue unsure of the story he wanted to tell, other than to offer a more intimate glimpse of Wintour, who wields power like few others in both bollywood actress fashion and publishing. He spent more than eight months inside Vogue's hallowed halls at Conde Nast headquarters.

Appearing on a new cable network (Lifetime) and being filmed at a new location (the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles) the new season of models agency still pits designers in an elimination competition, but it has expanded its roster of telegenic infighters to include the models who showcase the clothes.

Once an afterthought, the models are now supporting players, selected not only for their spidery limbs and doe eyes but also for their ability to interact with their fitness model designers. And for viewers who want yet more, the models are appearing in their own spinoff, “Models of the Runway,” which is scheduled on Thursday nights directly after “Project Runway.”

It follows 16 women with names like Emarie, Kojii, Matar and Yosuzi as they mature models squeeze into a loft in downtown Los Angeles, endure a shortage of bathrooms and partake in the kind of squabbling familiar to viewers of “America’s Next Top Model” and “Make Me a Supermodel.”

As a designer is eliminated, so is the bollywood actress model assigned to him or her. The goal is to be the last model standing alongside the winning designer after Heidi Klum has uttered her final “auf” on “Project Runway.” The model’s take: $25,000 from L’Oreal Skin Genesis and a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.

The living arrangements and prize packages are standard fare in the other models agency series, but producers claim that that is where the similarities end.

“Our models are already working,” said Sara Rea, an executive producer of mature models of the Runway.” “They already have contracts. This is about what it’s like to see working models in the real fashion world, not women who are just starting out and trying to get signed.” (Winners of “Top Model,” on CW, and “Supermodel,” on Bravo, are awarded $100,000, management contracts and magazine layouts.)

Young Mature Glamour Modeling Talent Agency

It sure has been a good year for models with Louisiana roots.

Ariel Meredith of Shreveport graced the pages of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition this spring. Isidore Newman School senior young mature Cydney Hedgpeth is the international face of Van's clothing. University of New Orleans student Allison Harvard just missed becoming "America's Next Top Model."

Now comes Emarie Wiltz of Algiers.

She's one of 16 beauties competing in the much-anticipated sixth season of glamour modeling the fashion-design competition reality show that premiered on Lifetime. She'll also appear in a new companion show, "Models of the Runway," which turns the camera's gaze away from the designers and onto the women who pose in the clothes.

In previous seasons, the talent agency models have been hardly more than hangers with hairdos, captured on camera only in frantic fitting-room scenes and striding out at judgment time. But apparently there was plenty of backstage nail-biting worthy of its own reality show.

The models, too, are competing. Top prize: $25,000 from L'Oreal Skin Genesis and a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine. Who wins, though, depends a lot on what happens in the young mature before the models even show up.

The 5-foot-9-inch Wiltz, 24, has been party modeling professionally for about five years, though she made her first steps on the catwalk when she was 8, at a J.C. Penney show in Lakeside Shopping Center.

The Edna Karr Secondary School graduate glamour modeling in Miami before moving to New York. She has posed in CosmoGirl magazine and in campaigns for Macy's and Bloomingdales.

Outside of the beautiful business, Wiltz is a student at New York University, studying talent agency marketing, and launching her own clothing line, Global Recess. Her college student/mom/model juggling act went bicoastal when "Project Runway" moved from New York to the West Coast this season. The models were all tossed together, "Real World"-style, in a loft, where they lounged around looking lovely while the cameras rolled.

For "Models," host Heidi Klum gives the women career coaching just as Tim Gunn acts as guidance counselor to the designers.

New York Mature Women Models Agency

As a young girl making her way through New York's modeling industry in the late 1970s, Cheryl Wadlington remembers meeting mature women Naomi Sims, America's first African American cover girl.

"She was wearing all white; it was her signature look," said Wadlington, who, when models agency was a young model in New York, heard Sims speak. Now she runs a fashion etiquette camp in Philadelphia for teenage girls. Sims "wore a button-up top and a pair of exquisite linen pants. She never was wrinkled and she had the most beautiful chocolate skin. . . ."

At a time when black women were told they were too dark to even think about being mature women cover girls, Sims became the first to do so when she landed the cover of Ladies' Home Journal in 1968. She died Saturday of breast cancer at her home in Newark, N.J. She was 61.

Sims was one of the first models to become an entrepreneur. After a five-year hip hop career as one of Halston's top models, she launched a wig line and her own skin-care products. She also penned several books about African American beauty, including one of the most popular, How to Be a Top Model (Doubleday, 1979).

"She represented elegance, dignity, and beauty when her kind of beauty model agency was not the standard," said Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley, who last saw Sims in May at Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball. As a teenager, Talley had taped to his bedroom wall a photograph of Sims on the cover of Life magazine in 1969. "She broke all the barriers being a dark-skinned woman without light features."

In style circles, she was a heavy hitter.

"She was the Jackie Robinson of the models agency fashion world," said Tina King, president of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Association of Fashion and Accessory Designers, a historically black fashion group. It was as if she represented the beauty side of the black-power movement, King said.

As Project Runway returns Thursday night on Lifetime, the design competition’s new network is welcoming it with a blowout: The premiere is at 9 p.m., but it will be preceded at 7 by the two-hour Project actress famous Runway: All-Star Challenge, in which fan faves from previous seasons (but only one winner) will compete against each another.

After the Runway premiere, Lifetime will debut Models of singers Runway, a spinoff that promises to give viewers a look at the Runway competition from the perspective of the models who wear the contestants’ designs. Because everyone remembers the Project Runway models, right?

Although only one previous winner will be on All-Star Challenge, Lifetime provides updates on past winners on the Project Runway page at fitness modeling. Off-camera: Perhaps the most modest of Runway’s five winners, Dao still has a lengthy bio on her Web site, fitness modeling. Jeffrey Sebelia (Season 3)

On-camera: The tattooed, blunt Sebelia has made a couple of other reality-show appearances, most notably as a guest judge on a Rock of Love: Charm School episode titled "The Trashion Show." As mentioned, Sebelia will be the only winner featured in the Project Runway: All-Star Challenge.

Off-camera: A strong Runway personality and designer, Sebelia hasn’t had the greatest luck post-show: A 2007 New York magazine profile portrayed him as being pretty much where he was before he won Runway, except that he gets recognized on the streets of Los Angeles a lot more. He did get a deal designing Christmas windows for tony L.A. store Fred Segal, and rock/pop stars such as Dave Navarro, Gwen Stefani and Seal have worn his designs. And he is widely reported to have designed costumes for 2007’s Bratz movie.

Plus Size Fashions for Actress Famous Mature Models

The hit reality show that pits would-be designers against one another will have a new setting (Los Angeles), a new network (Lifetime), and a special guest judge (Lindsay Lohan), when it debuts its sixth season on Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT.

Fans with a taste for drama and design are no doubt eager for the return of their weekly fashion world fashion fix. Mired for months in a behind-the-scenes legal battle between two networks and producers of the program, new episodes of "Project Runway" have been off TV for nearly a year; reruns have played on Bravo.

"We did shoot the show almost a year ago, and it was in limbo for the longest time," said host Heidi Klum, fashion-forward in skinny jeans and towering stilettos despite being some seven months pregnant with her fourth child, the third with husband Seal. "We just filmed season seven in New York which comes out in the beginning of next year - which will be funny because I will have had our mature models already by then but then I'm pregnant again, so people will be all confused."

The trouble with "Runway" began in April 2008. The series, which aired for five seasons on Bravo, was caught up in a legal dispute involving NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, the Weinstein Co. and Lifetime. NBC Universal sued Weinstein after the production company made a actress famous reported $150 million deal with Lifetime for the reality series.

Meanwhile, Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, and a cast of 16 aspiring designers taped the show's sixth season. It was meant to begin plus size fashions airing in January and production wrapped in February. But the legal dealings weren't resolved until a settlement was announced in April, when NBC Universal said it would be paid by Weinstein for the right to move the show to Lifetime.

Klum remained optimistic throughout and is happy that no one revealed the winner during the plus size fashions show's unexpected hiatus.

"It was a bummer because we had shot season six and we all knew mature models who the winner was and this poor person had to wait, wait, wait," she said. "We got lucky considering all the obstacles. ... I feel like the passion is still there and people still want to see it."

The sixth season brings the show from New York to Los Angeles, where contestants spend time at the city's Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. The move was meant to inject "a little fresh air to the show," Klum said, as well as pay homage to Hollywood's influence on modern fashion.

Still, fans can expect the show's usual dose of drama and designs gone wrong.

"We film the show in a matter of six weeks. It's really a major pressure cooker," Klum said. "What other big designers do in 10 days or two weeks, like make a haute couture gown, they have to do it in one or two days."

Elle Macpherson may have “the body,” but Victoria Beckham is the one with the fashion sense.

Macpherson, aka Posh-Spice-Style-Stealer-Extraordinaire, stepped out yet again in a male model number from Beckham’s own fashion line.

The Daily News’ Gatecrasher column found her in SoHo Tuesday in the grey, cashmere-blend Carmontelle dress from Beckham’s line. Macpherson was on the set of her new CW TV show “The Beautiful Life.”

Yesterday, Macpherson was spotted in a black silk Giral dress from the same line, while filming another fitness scene for the drama.

Clearly, Macpherson’s costume designers have a couture crush on good old fashion world, but they’ve got to change it up every once in a while, or the 46-year-old model is going to get a bad rap.

That is, if her return to start modeling acting doesn’t bring her down first. Sources say that execs on “The Beautiful Life,” which Ashton Kutcher executive produces, are worried about Macpherson’s acting chops.

Between modeling and running her own lingerie line, the mother of two hasn’t had much time for male model acting in recent years.

Previously Macpherson has featured in small roles in films such as “Batman & Robin” and TV shows including “Friends.”

“The Beautiful Life” revolves around the lives of models in New York City, one of which is portrayed by Mischa Barton.

Many of the models-turned-actors could reasonably give producers cause for worry, but Macpherson is currently among fashion world chief concerns.

“All the models need to be taught how to act,” a source said, “but the main focus is Elle, because she has one of the biggest roles.”

Bollywood Actress Plus Size Fitness Fashions

Size 16-plus girls will appear in the retail giant's in-store parades as it acknowledges the role fashion for fuller figures is taking in its business.

The larger models will be absent from the store's separate national launch event in Sydney because the brands they are representing are not included.

Myer director of apparel Judy Coomber said it was the first time plus size fashions models had been included in the twice-yearly round of parades that traditionally start the retailer's new season.

She said plus-size brands were an increasingly important part of Myer's offerings.

"This business is a growing business for us and it's really important to us in terms of our complete offering to all of our customers," she said.

Myer has been building its plus-size fitness fashion offerings which include Basque Woman, Jane Lamerton and Taking Shape with two new brands for younger women, Flirt and Monroe.

The decision to put plus-size collections on the catwalk is the latest in a string of wins for fuller figured fashionistas. In March Sportsgirl announced it would increase its range to include a size 16.

Plus-size chain store City Chic will have its own parade at this month's Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival.

Julie Parker, from eating disorder support organisation the Butterfly Foundation, said Myer's support of plus-sized fashion bollywood actress would have a positive impact on the way larger women felt about themselves.

"Knowing there are plus size fashions models on the catwalk and that the clothing is starting to get more public attention and advertising, they are going to feel more confident," she said.

Ms Coomber said the department store had chosen to feature the plus-size fitness models in the customer friendly in-store parades because the brands they were modelling were aimed directly at consumers.

The collection launch, which alternates between Sydney and Melbourne and is a major media event, traditionally showcases the department store's high-end designer fashion ranges.

"This is the first time we have put plus-size brands in our fashion launch, it's a bit of a test," Ms Coomber said.

She said the store was reviewing its size ranges.

Fuller's 19 Entertainment, which created hit talent shows Pop Idol and American Idol, has bought a controlling stake in the Storm fashion modeling agency, it emerged yesterday.

Displaying a talent for actress famous Napoleon would have been proud of, the former Spice Girls manager has acquired a 51% share of the modeling agency, home of catwalk stars including Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford.

The deal – for an undisclosed sum – comes after more than a year of negotiations and will bring some of the biggest names in fashion hip hop, sport and music under one umbrella. Storm has models including Lily Cole, left, and Eva Herzigova on its books, while 19 looks after celebrities such as Victoria and David Beckham, Kelly Clarkson and Andy Murray.

Fuller said the takeover was the culmination of 19's advances into fashion, adding to the firm's portfolio that includes a joint venture with designer Roland Mouret. "With 19 moving more into the world of fashion and style, the opportunity to join forces with Storm … was irresistible," he said.

Storm, founded in 1987 by brother and sister Sarah Doukas and Simon Chambers, recently moved into celebrity management, taking Harry Potter actor Emma Watson and singers Lily Allen and Paolo Nutini on to its books. The founders will remain in control of Storm, according to 19.

The four day event which ran from on July 23rd – 26th included a number of activities including a ‘White Sunset Party’, a ‘Caribbean Posh Magazine Party’, as a fashion bazaar. The highlight of the model galleriesm event, however, was the fashion extravaganza, held at the Cultural Center on Saturday, July 25th.

Fashion designers showcased their creative ingenuity in grand style; from ready-t-wear to elegant gowns to tailored menswear. It was all about glamour and style when fitness girl Phat and Phat Farm by international design mogul, Kimmora Lee Simmons along with NYC Designers Roger Gary and Cesar Galindo joined forces with BRAVO TV’s Project Runway alumni, Korto Momolu, Trinidad’s Claudia Pegus, BVI’s Kristin Frazer and St. Thomas’ Andre Ettienne. Other designers showcasing their unique collections were Ocie Collins II and Edwing D’Angelo who presented their menswear collections and Men Steppin In Design on St. Thomas and Per Te of Puerto Rico.

What has marked 28-year-old Bui Viet Ha’s career over the decade is the almost effortless ease with which she seems to pick herself up and move on.

Starting out as a top model in 1999, Ha has traversed through different careers without losing her passion for art and entrepreneurship.

Soon after she hung up her modeling boots, Ha became the director of a new company named Visual, focusing on casting models connect and advertising. Then she became a “wedding planner,” opening the bridal gown shop Casey on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. Later still, she was the marketing manager for a local magazine, a part-time teacher at the John Robert Powers School (a training center in style for celebrities) and is concurrently artist relations manager and VJ for music channel YAN TV, Vietnam’s first professional music channel.

Ha says she used to throw herself into work motivated solely by the thought that she has the energy and confidence to follow her wishes. But now, after many ups and downs in both private and public life, this young, but mature mom does some soul-searching before making decisions.

“When I was over 20 years old, I have to accept that I was hungry for success, so I just did what I liked, although the possibility of what I did being successful or not was about mature models half-and-half. But now I tend to look for a safe future, not only in life but also in my career. I do not like to challenge any more. I just want to do my creative job wholeheartedly and still have time with my kid.”

Toward the end of 2008 and later, her business slowed down. At that time, Ha was invited to be the artist relations manager and VJ of the Rewind program, introducing old hit songs, for music channel YAN TV. She has since stopped all other work to focus on the new field.

“Making most of the experiences and relations gained from my modeling career decorating ideas, I have enough confidence and interest in what I am doing now. People usually say a modeling career is a complicated environment with many lures. And it is, really. But for me, it launched my career, helped me grow up and made me self-reliant.”

Ha says the YAN TV music channel with nearly 10 programs of high quality has met partly the demand of Vietnamese music tastes. Bui Viet Ha’s main jobs are to establish and foster relations with both local and foreign artists and be the VJ for hit songs from the 90s backward.

Ha has no choice in these assignments but she is satisfied with the opportunity to assert herself in artistic activities and personal life. Now Ha also does some extra work in VJ casting for many upcoming projects of YAN TV, which has a style and format similar to the “senior” music channel MTV.

“Surely YAN TV will give the audience surprises month after month,” Ha asserts confidently.

Two-time Fashion Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search finalist, R'el Dade might be the next one. The recent Allen High School graduate, represented in Dallas by the Kim Dawson Agency and in New York with Marilyn adult model Management, left for a glamorous "summer camp" in Manhattan last month. The 5-foot-11 discovery made the pilgrimage alongside hundreds of other genetically blessed hopefuls who are hitting NYC streets this June and July to build their portfolios.

Canada's Top Female model 'Meaghan Waller'

Last night, Meaghan Waller officially became the winner of Canada's Next Top Female Model, beating out thousands of model hopefuls across the country. Going into the Final 3, Meaghan seemed to have a distinct advantage in the photo shoot, being the only finalist thin enough to fit into a bright yellow Versace dress; surprisingly, however, Linsay Willier was called first at elimination, placing Waller in the bottom two with Nikita Kiceluk. But when Kiceluk broke down in tears, the judges were unimpressed and sent her home, keeping Waller in the competition.

Then came the final challenge, in which Waller and Willier stomped it out on the runway in a fashion show for the Blonds, a designer duo from New York. While Willier already had a great runway walk, Waller came out with a confidence that delighted the judges. At the final elimination, the judges examined both girls' performances, as well as their entire portfolio from the season. Although Willier showed incredible improvement since the start of the competition, the judges ultimately decided that Waller had the look and versatility they wanted, and the 19-year-old blonde from Winnipeg, Man., was awarded the title of Canada's Next Top Model.

A lot of people had you pegged as the winner even from the first week of the competition.
Do you think?

After she was eliminated in the first episode, Tiffany told me she thought you'd win, and when Ebonie was eliminated a couple of weeks later, she also predicted that you'd take the title.
Oh, that's so sweet! I did not feel the same, but I'm glad they felt that way.

Why didn't you think you were going to win?
It's not that I didn't think I was going to win; I thought I had a chance at winning, but I never wanted to get too far ahead of myself. I didn't want to psych myself out or get too confident.

Was there a point when you thought, "I could actually win this"?
I don't think it was until after Heather was eliminated and I was like, "OK, I am the only blonde, blue-eyed girl. I have no one that looks like me and I'm the only girl here who has my look. I could take this."

Going into the Final 3 elimination, did you think you were going to go home?
There's always that thought in the back of your head; you never feel safe going into an elimination.

Were you surprised when Nikita went home instead?
Um, relieved. Surprised? Not so much. Nikita had been pulling the self-deprecation thing way too much and I think the judges just kind of got tired of it.

After the final runway show and you'd been announced as the winner, Linsay said that she thought she had done better on the runway than you did. Do you agree with that?
I do agree that Linsay went into the final challenge with a better walk, but in the end, I think I worked it out. The judges obviously saw something and I'm not going to doubt what the judges decided.

What were you thinking before you went out on the plus size models runway?
Honestly, the only thing that was going through my head was, "Don't fall, don't fall. Make the clothes look good, but don't fall." Once I hit the runway, everything that could possibly have gone through my head totally left. I was swept over by a total rush, a total adrenaline rush.

Why do you think you won?
I don't know, I think I'm just that quirky, geeky-at-heart girl who... I don't know. I think I'm versatile but, at the same time, very down-to-earth. Uh... I don't really know how to answer that one.

When you started the competition, who did you think was your biggest competition?

In the beginning, I'd probably say Nikita, just because she was such a bold personality. She made herself known right off the bat. As the competition went on and I realized who Heather was, I noticed that she was quite stiff teenage model competition. But I think all the girls were competition, really.

What was the lowest point of the competition for you?
Probably the Covergirl shoot. It was a tough day; lots of emotions. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

After that shoot, the judges expressed concern that maybe you didn't have thick enough skin for modeling. Is that a worry for you, or were you just having a bad day?
It's not an issue with me. I'm very happy with myself; I am who I am. I think it was just an off day and there were a lot of things going on that day that stirred up emotions.

After last week's episode, there has been a lot of negative reaction to your confessional with Nikita, in which you two appear to make fun of Maryam's accent. How do you respond to that?
In all honesty, it was not done maliciously whatsoever. I poke fun at my flaws; Nikita pokes fun at hers. Maryam poked fun at hers, too, and if you watched the finale, even in her goodbye letter, Maryam quoted the, "Whaaat?" It was never done maliciously and the buzz afterwards was a little unnecessary, but cutting and editing will do that, and I'm OK with that.

Have you spoken with Maryam since the episode aired?
I have, yeah. No hard feelings. None.

What is the biggest misconception people have had about you since the show started airing?
Most definitely, the idea that I'm a shy, quiet girl. Once you get to know me, I'm a very bold personality. I am a huge goof and just like to have fun.

What made you audition for the show?
I got scouted when I was working retail in Winnipeg. A model agent came in and asked me to come see her. I said no at first, but she called me back and I finally went in for some pictures, they sent them to Top Model and the next day, I was on a plane to the auditions in Toronto.

What were the auditions like?
It was a lot of fun. I woke up at 4 a.m.; I was on a plane by six, got to Toronto and stood in line at Fairview Mall for hours.

I was at those auditions; there were a ton of girls there.
Yeah? There were tons of people. I got picked out of the crowd pretty early in the morning and asked to go to the front, and I walked a couple of times for Elmer. I was told I made it onto the next round. It was such a whirlwind, but that was only the beginning.

What kind of questions did they ask you in the second round of auditions?
They were just asking questions to find out who I am as a person - what I do in my spare time, things I'm interested in. Trying to get to know you and digging to see if you'd be good TV. I think from early on, I was pegged as the goofy, kinda nerdy girl from Winnipeg.

Before you were scouted, had you considered modeling?
It was always in the back of my head, but I never thought you could do it. Especially in Winnipeg; there just aren't many good agencies. I never thought it was for me, but I'm really happy I had the confidence to go through with it.

Now that you've won, are you moving away from Winnipeg?
No, Winnipeg will always be my home base. I don't know anything about moving yet, but if I can work out of Winnipeg, I most definitely will.

What happens for you, now that you've won Canada's Next Top Model?
Tomorrow, I'm doing Elmer Olsen's Boot Camp to the Big Time, where he brings in tons of scouts from all over the world and it's basically a cattle call. Saturday, I'm shooting my Fashion magazine editorial spread. Then Monday, I'm doing my first working job with Capezio Shoes and, in August, my Covergirl ad is coming out.

So no rest for you, really.
It's been pretty busy since the show started airing, but especially in the past week and even more so in the last 24 hours.

Where do you see yourself and your career in five years?
Hopefully, having a huge name and traveling the world, taking every opportunity that comes my way, wherever that may take me.

Action movie star Bruce Willis has taken the plunge and tied the knot with his lingerie model girlfriend, British Emma Heming, his rep has confirmed for several media outlets in the US. The couple met through common friends and began to free dating last year, and finally decided to walk down the aisle in a very private ceremony at the actor’s residence in the Caribbean.

While this is Bruce Willis’ second marriage, it is a first-time experience for the 30-year-old commercial model. According to reports, Bruce’s first wife, Demi Moore, was also invited at the reception, together with her and the actor’s children, Rumer (20), Scout (17) and Tallulah Belle (14). Demi’s husband, Ashton Kutcher, was also present.

Another celebrity who attended the private ceremony was singer Madonna, it has been said. She and Willis’ first wife, Demi, have a long-standing friendship, but she is also on excellent terms with the groom. All Women Get Lower Self Esteem After Watching Models

As it was not enough, the continuous bombardment of wasp-waisted blonde bombshells all around us, from magazine covers to net and television, designers push up all kinds of anorexic wire-thin models, like Kate Moss or Gemma Ward.

That's too much for common women, and it triggers bad feelings in all women about how they perceive their own bodies despite the size, shape, height or age of the viewers.

The dating team surveyed how 81 women subjects felt about themselves, from their body weight to their hair, and after that a part of them were exposed to neutral images, while others watched models in magazine ads for one to three minutes.

When the subjects were re-evaluated after viewing the images, all those women displayed a decrease in their level of satisfaction with their own bodies.

This approach points out that most women should avoid the impact of the media, regardless of weight. "Past interventions have targeted specific groups of women, such as those with pre-existing eating and body-image concerns, but this study suggests that reducing the acceptance of mass media images of women and trying to stop the social comparison process is important for helping all commercial models. Most women do not go to a counselor for advice; they look to Seventeen or Glamour magazine instead," Mintz said.

"These unrealistic images of women, who are often airbrushed or partially computer generated, have a detrimental impact on women and how they feel about themselves."

Could stick-thin models be on their way off the runway?

That's what some are wondering after Whitney Thompson became the first plus-size advertisement model to win "America's Next Top Model" last week.

Thompson, 20, is a size 10. She's not at all fat by conventional standards; she's slimmer than the 34 percent of Americans older than 20 who are obese. But compared with the impossibly thin models dominating runways around the world, she's big, and she's considered plus-size in the modeling industry. She's heard that her entire career.

"I've stood there in the middle of an commercial modeling agency with everyone pointing at me and saying 'four more inches off the hips would be great,'" Thompson said. "I don't recommend any girl putting herself through that, but I did and I stand here unchanged, physically.

"Right before I left to do the first episode in L.A., I was with one of my best friends and she said, 'You're fat. You are not going to make it in this competition,'" she continued. "So every week that I made it, I was like, 'Ha!' Obviously, we're not friends anymore."

The British media don't agree. In April, columnist and former Miss England judge Monica Grenfell lashed out at Marshall in London's Daily Mail, writing, "Who does she think she's kidding? What she's demonstrating isn't bravery but a shocking lack of self-control. Instead of flaunting her figure, Chloe ought to own up to the truth."

Famed model picture photographer Nick Knight and rhinestone heiress Nadja Swarovski have been named as judges in the upcoming fourth annual Scottish Style Awards.

The addition of Knight and Swarovski has further upped the credibility of the five-strong judging panel, which already includes visionary retailer and fashion models aficionado Sheikh Majed Al Sabah, Peter Saville and Turner Prize-winning artist Douglas Gordon.
